Midad: Quran, Prayer & Adhkar
Privacy Policy
In short
- We collect no data about you, and we don't know who you are.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no account.
- Your location is used on your device only, to calculate prayer times. It is never sent anywhere.
- Your bookmarks, notes and progress are stored on your own device.
Who we are
Midad is made by Voltaro Studio. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app on iPhone and Android. Contact us at [email protected].
Data we collect
None. Midad does not ask you to create an account and does not send us any personal or usage data. The app contains no ads, no analytics, no third-party crash reporting, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Your location
The app needs your location only to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. You can allow location while using the app, or pick your city from a built-in list that works offline. All calculations happen on your device, and your location is never sent to us or to anyone else. If you turn on the optional travel mode, the app uses the system's significant-location-change alert to update prayer times, and the calculation still stays on your device.
What is stored on your device
Your bookmarks, notes, khatma progress, adhkar and settings are stored only on your device. We cannot see them.
- Backups: your phone's system may back up app data to your own iCloud or Google Drive, depending on your device settings. That backup lives in your account, is covered by Apple's or Google's policy, and never reaches us.
- Exported files: if you export a backup or a diagnostics file yourself, you choose where to save it and who to send it to.
- Notifications: adhan alerts are scheduled locally on your device and never go through a server.
Internet connections
The app connects to the internet only to download content you ask for:
- Mushaf, tafsir and translation files from our own content servers.
- Audio recitations from mp3quran.net.
These requests carry no identifier and no cookies. Like any internet connection, the server sees your device's IP address in order to deliver the file. We do not use it to identify or track you.
If you choose to send a note about a translation to the Noble Quran Encyclopedia (QuranEnc), only what you wrote and the ayah reference are sent, and only after you confirm.
What Apple and Google collect
Apple and Google may share general, aggregated statistics with us, such as download counts and crash reports, if you agreed to share them in your device settings. These statistics do not identify you and are covered by each company's privacy policy.
Children
The app collects no data from any user, including children.
Deleting your data
All your data is on your device. Delete the app and it is deleted too. Backups in your iCloud or Google Drive are controlled by you from your account settings.
When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply to you. We never share them, and we delete them once they are no longer needed.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes in how the app handles your data, we will update this page and the date above before the change reaches the app.
